First Poo Poo in the Potty!

Miller had his first poo poo in the potty today! Yay! We have been trying off and on for the past week or so when he tells us, we go sit and read books. Today we had a successful try. Of course, I took  picture but Ryan said I can't post it. We did find out the potty chair we have is too small for the big guy. He pottied but it went everywhere. Today we will be in search of a new potty chair and pullups.

I have a few pictures to share that aren't bathroom related. Yesterday Miller played with Rylee and Lilly (Shannon's cousin), then got to go to their house for pizza and Rio time. Notice three things: he's a giant, he's already flirting by grabbing her had, and they are sitting on the same side of the table together. Ah...so sweet! Today after the pooping achievement we went outside for a haircut. While Ryan went to get his haircut Miller mowed the lawn white trash style; diaper, buzz cut, and camo sandles.

Listed

I have been missing from the blog world lately but not because I haven't been online or too busy; blogger has been hating me from my home computer. I hope the self diagnosis of clearing my cache and a few other items also me to actually post and comment now.

As you may have heard, we found a new house, the offer was accepted and we are moving. Today we met with our realtor (after a long night of cleaning, decluttering, and stashing) for her to list us. We are officially listed (well, there's a sign out front) and we should have a MLS number within a few days.

It was nice to hear her say how nice our house was and that she considers it a maximum upgraded house. I can only imagine what the others are that she sees because our home is far from "upgraded." She was rather impressed with Ryan's handiwork also. I may have to keep an eye on him and her. She's not his type and a little older but you never know. ;)

So, if you here me complaining I can't find anything now, it's because we stashed it somewhere out of sight to make the house feel bigger. I do miss our house when it was toy free and it makes me sad to think we are leaving it but overall I knew it was a starter home. We put a lot of love and work into it and now it's time to move on to bigger (and better) things. I am also excited to learn our new neighborhood. It's further away from some of our friends but 20-30 minutes drive around here isn't much at all. We have been spoiled with friends < 10 minutes away.

Time to go get a haircut. The debate is on over chopping it all off or just reshaping it and keep growing. I might stick with the growing for a few more months (especially since it will be a longer trip south to get it cut from the new place and it's so darn expensive!). Yes, I am putting myself on a budget since we will have two mortgages for a while. Plus I have a ton of new stuff I want (notice I said want, not need) to buy for the new place.

Sunny Sunday

Today was a perfect day for a picnic at the park. We saddled up and headed to the park with Jess, Jerry, and Norah. We ate our lunch and then headed to the playland to slide, swing, run, and raise heck. Then we walked over to the horses and watched them for a bit. Afterwards, a catnap was had by Miller and then back outside with the Malecha's.

We blew bubbles, had snacks, and ran around. Here are the pics on the way to the park, on the slide, and mom's proof of sunshine.

House Hunting-Round 1

Today we went and looked at some of the houses we received from our realtor. We saw one decent property (love the kitchen and back yard...rest of the house was nice but not a dream home). The rest were not quite what we had in mind. It gave us a great feel for what's out there, what our money can buy, and who obviously has never watched a single HGTV show. I didn't take pictures but the ultimate story house was the 1970 something, original owners, raw wood walls, cheetah carpet, metalic animal wall papered bathroom (don't forget the ceiling), and other unspeakable decorations.

Miller was a trooper and did pretty well. I can only imagine how bored he must have been. Plus he had to be held alot so he didn't touch peoples stuff, get eaten by dogs, or fall in pools. Maybe it was more fun than I thought.

Oh, we did pull up to one house and as we drove through the neighborhood, Ryan and I both said too ghetto. We pulled up and told her to not even get out of the car. It made our current neighborhood look like gated community and the ritz wrapped into one. I can't believe anyone would ever buy a house sight unseen or visited. Yikes!

The search will continue but I have a sneaking suspicion we will end up in Coral Springs. They have nicer lots, neighborhoods, and larger houses without feeling like you live on top of your neighbors. Wish us luck. For now, we will appreciate our house because it is definitely nicer than a lot we saw today and almost as big.

Miller Stats

21 month check-up = a breeze. It's the make nice appointment where Miller got to stand on the big-boy scale (aka-he's a monster and getting him to hold still long enough was quite interesting), have his temp taken, lungs and heart listened too, and ears checked. A little feeling around the belly and a tongue depressor to check the toofers and we were done. I wish they were all that easy.

So...other than his height and weight put him at the average for a 33 month old; here it is.

Height: 37 inches
Weight: 32 1/2 pounds

We were basically told he's advanced in size and his motor skills and language are ahead. With all that, others (including us) will expect him to act older but he will have pure meltdowns in public and that's ok. Also, drinking from sippy cups is also ok since glasses are still a challenge and not worth the hassle at a restaurant. Ryan mentioned we only paddle him 3 times a day and the doctor laughed. I love this pediatrician. She reassured us that the laid back attitude is helping and to remember to be firm on dangerous things but if he wants to wear the same shirt every day, it's not worth fighting that battle. How appropriate for the kid with a shoe fetish. Next major milestone (24 months) is dropping him down from whole milk to 2%. Unfortunately, that's not that exciting.

Catch Up

Short version is worked sucked all the life out of me this week with 2 overnights and some other very long days to match. I am too exhausted to even bitch about it.

We took Miller down to Miami to see Thomas the Train yesterday. He was not a happy camper. He had waken up in the middle of the night and was fussing about those darn molars coming in. He tripped on the way into the park and hurt his fingers or wrist. We got him some ice cream to numb the gums and make the wrist better. It didn't really help. Eventually it was our turn to ride Thomas and he was over it before the ride started. I didn't get very many cute pics but here are a couple.

What a LONG Day!

I was up and working at 2:45am today. This was the second attempt to launch a new student email provider. It went with off with only one hitch that was resolved by 8:30am. Then I started my normal work day (the plan was to work until noon, take a nap, exercise, shower, and get some actual training/special project work done). Like all well laid plans, it failed miserably.

By 9am I was full blown trouble shooting mode and trying to delegate work for a much larger issue at hand. I even had one of my new team members working with a former team member to cross train. I gave some good directions (or at least I thought so). Needless to say, I didn't hand hold them enough and my plans for a nap were foiled by their inability to think. It's now 3pm. I have showered but no makeup or hair fixing today. I am dressed and about to hop on a call that I am in no mental capacity to be on. I am going to try to squeeze in a walk before the boys get home.

I have been ready for a drink since about 8am. Too bad I am too tired to actually have one. I think I will be in bed 20 minutes after Miller if not before him tonight.
