Visitors from the Northland

For the past ten days, the boys have been spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa Froyd. They have fought bad guys, rode the rails, read books, watched movies, visited the zoo, made lefse, made pretzel cookies, consumed chocolate chip cookies, eaten out, visited the swap shop, swam, shopped for toys, and pretty much gotten away with murder. Miller also attended a birthday party with a petting zoo.

To add to the change in routine, I made dinner for Ryan's birthday. Yep, I cooked! Homemade meatloaf, baked potatoes (yes, they were actually cooked and not rock hard) and corn on the cobb. I did cheat and bought a key lime pie.

Tomorrow the boys don't have school but Ryan has to work so I will be trying to keep sane with them for a full day. Miller's good. It's Mason that's a handful. Between the full moon, a cough, and what appears to be another round of teething, he's wild. Hopefully a little time with Mom at the park and Target will cure him. If I feel brave, I might attempt dying Easter eggs with them. We will see what the day brings.

This weekend we will clean up the house, hang out with some friends for Easter, and await a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Sladky. It's time to celebrate Grandma Jean's birthday. I hope she likes camo wrapping paper!

Mason 18 Month Stats

It's hard to believe my little boy is already 18 months old. He certainly remembered his last trip because he didn't want to walk into the building. Once in the exam room, the tears made an early appearance (he didn't want to get undressed, he certainly didn't want to get weighed or measured, and he hates lying down on the crinkly paper).

Yet, with all of that silliness, he had his finger pricked and barely cared. He was more concerned about the bandaid being on his finger.

He cried when the doctor examined him and cried when he got his two shots. Poor little guy. Even through the tears, he waved goodbye, blew a kiss and gave a high five.

Mason's 18 month stats:

Height: 34 3/4 inches (97% +)
Weight: 31 lbs (97%+)

The one stat I never pay attention to is his head. Today the measurement was in the 81%. Here I thought he had such a large melon and it's not even that large. He just has a lot of hair.

Oops....

Well, I blogged under Ryan's account. So here it is on my own blog.

Visitor Season

With many friends and family still living in the northland, we have a spring visitor season in Florida. March seems to kick off the streak of visitors as they can no longer tolerate winter and need a break. It's great for us because it's almost guaranteed we will have company without having to travel.

Last weekend the Manacke family made an appearance. The kids had a blast playing together. Too bad the weather was unseasonably cold for us. It was down in to the 40's at night! The kids didn't mind the cold and still swam in the pool (blue lips and all).

In a couple weeks Grandma and Grandpa Froyd will be down to spoil the kids. Then we see my parents, Bridgette, and Auntie Em. If anyone else plans on visiting, please check with us before you book to make sure we have an open guest bed. LOL!

Right after visitor season comes to a close we head into the birthday season. Soon it will be time for the holidays! My goodness time does fly.

On the running front. I had a nice two week streak going then I caught a nasty cold. I took a little over a week off and am back at it. My knee/ankles are doing ok. Hopefully I can kick the cold and get back to more mileage. I did run a sub 9 minute mile today. That made me pretty proud. It's the distance I want right now but at least if I am improving on speed, that's a bonus for not getting the miles in.
