3 Big Steps

The first big step was Ryan unloaded his crutches and has been "walking" around the house. With this advancement, we decided to move "splasher" into the big bathtub rather than the counter in the kitchen. See how much more fun bathtime is when you can make a mess!

The next thing we tried this weekend was introducing rice cereal to Miller. Here is spoon #1 or 2. It didn't go well. He did not like it and cried. We managed to get a couple spoons in his mouth and then gave him some of his bottle. We switched back and forth for a few more tries and then gave up and fed him the rest of his bottle. I think he will be ok after a few more tries. He wasn't spitting all of it out...but morning feedings are about to get a whole lot messier!

Put a 1/2 teaspoon or so of baby applesauce in with the cereal and he will love it.

FYI - it can take a kid over 15 times of trying something before they like it. Erika hated apples and now the kid can't get enough. Don't give up hope and try 100 times if you need to. Emily hated squash, not baby food but adult squash, now she asks for it. Erika still gages but she tries it each time we have it.
Bath time gets more and more fun as they get older. I read my book in the bathroom while the girls take their bath.
I can't believe how big he is getting.

I haven't given up. I know it will take many tries so we are going to hold off on "additives" for a while. He's not starving (see those pictures-he's huge!). Today he managed to eat a few more spoonfulls without tears.
