Vegas Recap

Las Vegas was a blur. Literally.

We started off our vacation with a nice rainstorm in Fl that had us delayed by almost 3 hours. Luckily our plane was also the connecting flight from Memphis so we didn't miss our connection. We made it to Vegas safely and eager to see the crew (Bahl's, Manacke's, Determan's, and Norman's). We dumped our bags and headed out for some food and drinks.

We ate at Sammy Haggar's Cabo Wabo Cantina or whatever it's called. I have to actually say this in the blogosphere; I had one of the best chicken dishes ever! I never order chicken in restaurants, much less a mexican restaurant. It was delicious. I could order it again. Yum.

After dinner we headed out down the strip for some sight seeing and of course drinks. There was a lot of alcohol consumed which contributed to the trip being a blur. Just assume there was always a drink in our hands or being consumed so I don't have to write about it. We rode the NY NY roller coaster that first night. It was fun. I have the bruises on my shins and shoulders to prove it. It was one of the longest coasters I have been on and the view of the city at night was really cool.

Almost every day we were awake rather early but laid in bed since we had no real commitments. Even with the laying around; we all managed to be up and downstairs by 10am most days. We usually met up for breakfast/lunch. Then either headed our own ways or stuck together for some sight seeing.

Friday was nice out. We checked out some hotels and did a ton of walking. We went down town Friday night to check out the lights and met Bill and Michele. Saturday we hit up the Blake Shelton concert (more on this in a bit). Sunday we went to the Beatles Love Cirque de Soleil. It was incredible. I would watch it again!

The Blake Shelton concert was fun. You know me, any concert with drinks = a good time. I think I apologized to the lady behind me a thousand times since I was standing up the entire concert. I am not really sure what songs I knew because I was too busy drinking to take note. Somewhere between pre-concert drinks and the end of the concert, MLB got a little sick. The boys brought him to the bathroom to puke and that's where my blurry night set in. I know we got a limo ride back to the hotel. I know I ate Subway before retiring for the night. I know I had fun. I wasn't sick the next day from drinking but I was off. In hindsight, I think it was the beginning of the evil flu setting in.

Sunday we kept it low key (my feet hurt-forgot tennies and had heels the whole time). It rained Saturday and was cold Sunday. We checked out some more hotels and then got ready for our fancy night out. The Beatles performance was fantastic. I think I sang and smiled the entire time. Then we had a nice last meal with everyone and called it a night. Our flight left at 6am so we were up a few hours after going to bed.

The flight home I felt off but assumed it was from little sleep and too much drinking the days before. By the time I got home, I realized I had the flu and a fever. I was off to bed early and 12 days later, flu and bronchitis, I am almost back to normal.

We took very few pictures and most didn't turn out. i am hoping Val or Nicole will send us their pics. I am sure there were more stories in there but between the drinks, the fun, the change of sleep, and being sick, it's all a blur.

It sure sounds like you guys kept busy and had a good time, except for getting sick at the end. The Cirque du Soleil sounds awesome! I want to see one of these; there are so many to choose from.

Glad to hear you're feeling better...finally!

I think Vegas is supposed to be a blur! If you remember it all, I don't think you did it right!

I can't believe you managed Vegas in heels. I wore my sketcher sneakers with everything - even my dressier stuff. You've got some tough feet!
