Mason's 6 Months Revisited
Mason's stats were off at his last doctor's appointment. He had an ear infection so he had to go back a week later after a round of antibiotics. Today's weight was almost a full pound more (23 lbs 4 oz). Ryan said they didn't remeasure his length but I am guessing he is still the same height as at his 5 month appointment or taller. He checked out fine (no more ear infection and his lungs/cold were cleared up). They gave him his shots and now we go back in 2 months! I love when the appointments are less and less frequent.
In the food department, he's been eating rice cereal, fruits, and veggies. He hates baby food so the other night Ryan gave him a stick of celery to nah on. He LOVED it. He had that several times while we were eating and he thought he was hot stuff. Then we gave him a snap pea. He loved that too. He also likes Rice Krispies. I think our baby food days will be limited with this little piglet. I think he's going straight for textures and substance.
He has his two bottom teeth poking through. He is rolling all over the place too. He scoots backwards and is making the crawling "jiggle" where he rocks back and forth and anticipates crawling. We had removed the baby bumpers from his crib a lot earlier than Miller. We find him through the slats and in some pretty silly positions he can't get out of. I guess a stuck screaming baby is better than a suffocated one. It's just so sad to see him get stuck but also quite humorous.
Now that his face rash has healed, I will need to take some more pics and post them. Hopefully when he teeths more that rash doesn't come back. He looked pretty miserable for the last few weeks. He needs a trim of his hair around his ears but I really don't want to cut his little locks quite yet. He can get away with it a little longer.

It is nice once the check ups get spaced out a bit; for awhile, it can feel like you're going to the doctor ALL THE TIME.
I had to laugh when I read in Jon's baby book that he started solid foods at 6 weeks. So different from the 6 months or so we are used to now. :)
