Mason's Potty Trained!

Mason had the potty part mastered a couple weeks ago but refused to go number 2 in the potty. He would wait for a pull up at naptime or a diaper at bedtime. On Mother's Day, I told him it would be the best present he could give me. So sure enough, Mason decided to go poop in the potty. There's been no turning back since. In fact, I think he enjoys it so much he goes 2-3 times a day now!

We still put a diaper or pullup (trying to use them all up) on him at bedtime but he wakes up in the middle of the night and goes in the potty. It's mainly peace of mind for me. Today he went sans pullup at naptime and was successful. Amen!

Next up, getting him to learn to wipe and get dressed by himself. Miller loved getting himself dressed. Mason is too lazy. He likes you to do it for him. I will take dressing him over diapers any day.

We weren't as quick to bring him to Toys R Us to get his reward. Maybe that's a special trip he will get next weekend. He tells us he wants a big boy bike but I am pretty sure he will pick out something train related. I will post a pick once the decision has been made.

On a side note, he's one funny dude lately. At school he has been learning about the weather and different types of clouds. He has corrected Ryan on a couple occasions about cumulus clouds. The other night I got home and went to say goodnight and he was sleeping backwards, propped up on his pillows, looking out the window at the clouds.

For two nights during "poop" time, he has decided to tell me about tornadoes and storm safety. "Stay away from windows. Don't go under a tree. You will get a boo boo and need a band aid." After such serious information, a fart will escape from him and he will erupt in pure laughter. Then he tells me "It's just a fart. Not a poop. Poop's still coming." LOL! It's pretty hard to not crack up during these conversations.
